The one-paragraph version
NetReckon makes money from clearly labeled sponsor slots on category pages, enhanced listings vendors maintain for their own profiles, and single-sponsor newsletter placements. No payment of any kind affects which tools are listed, where they rank, what their profiles say or what their reviews score. Rankings and review scores are permanently not for sale. Package details live on the Get Listed page; how content is produced on the editorial policy.
What we sell
- Sponsor slots — a labeled card above the leaderboard on a specific category page. Hard-capped at three per page, always outside the ranked list.
- Enhanced listings — a vendor pays to keep a richer version of their own profile (media, faster updates). We review everything they submit before it publishes, and their rank does not move.
- Newsletter placements — one labeled sponsor per issue, never more.
We use no affiliate links today. If that ever changes, they’ll be disclosed here first, labeled where they appear and tagged rel="sponsored" — the same rules as everything else.
How paid placements look
Anything paid carries a “Sponsored” label you can actually see — full-size text right on the card, never a pale footnote. Sponsor cards are visually distinct, live above the ranking, and are separate from it in the page’s markup, so a paid position can never be mistaken for an earned one.
What money never buys
- A rank, a score, a “Rated #1” badge or a place on any leaderboard
- Removal or softening of a limitation, a low rating or a moderated review
- Changes to a profile’s editorial content — real weaknesses stay published
- A competitor’s demotion, removal or harsher treatment
- Vendor-written articles or paid guest posts, labeled or otherwise
- Advance notice of unpublished ranking changes
Sponsored links & SEO
All outbound links in paid placements are tagged rel="sponsored", exactly as search engines ask for paid links. Advertisers buy attention from readers who are actively choosing tools — never search-ranking equity. That keeps both sites on the right side of the rules.
What we turn down
Slots are sold only for pages the product genuinely belongs on; off-topic placements are declined regardless of budget. Categories we refuse outright: gambling, adult material, speculative crypto schemes, MLM operations, scraping services — and, more broadly, any product we couldn’t honestly put in front of a reader.
Reporting a problem
If a placement looks unlabeled, or a ranking looks bought, tell us. We look into every such report, and any fix happens in the open rather than quietly. Advertisers with questions get a reply within one business day at [email protected].
